Wait! What? Is he talking murder now? You know he always says ask him questions, he doesn't bite.
Yes, you with your hand up?
With premeditation are you talking murder? Sir? If you want to answer...
Like I have said in the past, I love questions and will answer any question I can. And, I can answer your question. I am NOT talking about murder. I'm talking about your exercise routine.
Yup, here I go again. Exercise. I'm going to start by letting you all in on a little secret, before I started working out, I hated working out. I would get sore, chaffed and down right angry at my body and at what I couldn't do. I'd overdo it (See earlier post), I would try to do things I couldn't do. Then I started working out with in my limits. I found what my maximum heart rate should be while working out. I workout and try to hit that number and keep it there. Sometimes I go over, but, then I slow down or change what I'm doing to regain that target number. I hated where I started walking a mile in 30+ minutes. That said I left that time behind a long time ago. I can now do a mile in around 12 minutes when I'm running. I walk about 3.5 miles in an hour usually at a pace I am comfortable at and to increase the heart rate? Simply increase your incline.
Well, that's a great story, but, what's that got to do with premeditation?
Thank you sir, good point. I will answer that question...nothing. Good info, nothing to do with this days topic. I will get back to that. See, two questions and still no biting.
What my point for today is that you need to premeditate your workout regiment. What do I mean by that? Well, it's really a simple idea that I use. As a lot of you know I work out at 5:30am...yes that's in the morning. I premeditate the workout starting the night before. I know I need to get up at 5am in order to get to the gym at 5:30 to do my workout. So, what does that mean?
1. Go to bed in time to get enough sleep to get up and go to the gym.
2. Make sure I have the liquids I need for the workout before 5am.
3. Make sure I have the appropriate after workout protein bar for the next day.
4. Make sure my alarm is set for 5am.
5. Make sure that I have my workout clothes laid out so I can get dressed in the morning, without running around looking for my clothes.
6. Get up at 5am.
7. Get in my car by 5:20am.
8. Get my ass on a treadmill and go.
Make sure that you have a premeditated plan so when it comes to exercise, you will not be guilty of murdering your exercise regiment.
Until next time, Gentle Reader.
