Dirty Laundry

Hello there My Fellow Friends on the Path to Self Discovery!

Welcome to this week's installment of What Makes UltimateJinx007 Tick? (I just made that up, but it does sound pretty cool. <grin>)

So, what brings on this topic today you ask. Well, right now it is all the laundry (though it really is clean) taking over most of my house, and the dishes (mostly dirty) taking over the kitchen. Now, I'm no June Cleaver, but normally you can at least walk in my house without tripping. So why the mess now?  Because my dear readers, I am bipolar. And more frequently than not, I am depressed. Sometimes more than others. And the condition of my house tends to reflect that. Some days it is hard to get out of bed and adult. Especially when that day starts early and ends late. With the summer season upon us, it would seem someone in my family is doing something; sometimes several people with several something's on the same day! What the heck happen to the lazy days of summer?!?!
Now, throw in a full time job that is at it's craziest in the summer and I'm ready to run and hide. But can I do that? No!  <takes a few seconds to feel sorry for self>

So, what's a person to do? Take it one step at a time; same as you would with getting into shape physically. First assess my body and what I want from it. Well, I'd like to not feel tired anymore so I can do stuff. Ok. Time to re-evaluate my meds and my sleep. Both can greatly effect my energy level. Next, do I have a support network?  My friends and family and of course my doctor know I have tough times. All I have to do is ask for help and they will be there.  And once I have all of that, it's time for a plan of action. And that really is hard when you feel you can't take one more step and you are moving through a fog and you just want to cry and hide. So what to do? Baby steps people; I know we've talked about that. So now it's time to start taking walks. Even if it is just 10 minutes a day. Just to get out there and get moving. And that dirty house?  One load of laundry and one load of dishes at a time. The rest of the household is going to have to pitch in too. But if we all take a little bit of the mess and do our own part, soon that will be back in order too.

There is an expression that I would like for you to keep in mind; Sound body, Sound mind or Sound Mind, Sound body. I'm not too picky. Choose whichever one speaks to you more.

Until you seek my wisdom again,

UltimateJinx007
